Tuesday Evening & Night rides

Join the SWAMP Mountain Bike club on Tuesday after work for a "Show and Go" ride around the Wilderness Trails. From late spring until early Fall these rides are held from 5:45pm until 8pm at the "Hole in the Fence" parking area across from the Trout Creek entrance on Morris Bridge road.

When the days get shorter (Starting Nov 9th this year) this turns into a night ride where lights are required and a cost of $5 to help pay for the Ranger's overtime pay. These rides meet at the Flatwoods Ranger Station off of Morris Bridge road at 6:30pm and end around 8:30pm. The Squiggy 6 Hour off-road Mountain Bike Race 

This race has been running since March of 2005 within the trails of the Morris Bridge off-road bicycle trails located on the south side of Morris Bridge road. Put on by Red Trail Racing, this 6 hour race is perfect for all levels of off road rider to test his or her skills and fitness. Stay tuned for information on the 7th annual event for march 2011!  

Bicycle Bash Classic

Beginning in November of 2010, the Flatwoods section of the park will play host to the "Bicycle Bash Classic" presented by Cure on Wheels and SWFBUD (Southwest Florida Bicycle United Dealers) groups. This 1 day "Everything Bicycle" event started back in 2006 and was held mostly in parks within Pinellas county. This year the event makes it's move to the Bicycle friendly Wilderness Parks and will showcase all kinds of biking events including on and off road guided rides.

Florida Dirty Duo January 16th 2011 Trout Creek Park

Come join us for the 2011 Florida Dirty Duo as we have added two course venues that will surely test your strength and stamina.  In addition to the challenging obstacle course in Sarasota, we have designed exciting courses in Tampa and Miami.  What does this mean?  New terrain and more obstacles!  So bring your game face for 3 different courses with 3 times the fun!

Flatwoods 10 Mile & 5K Ramble

This race has replaced the Flatwoods Four. It uses the same Flatwoods Entrance, but the course will take place on an entirely new set of single track and double track trails. And even better, the entire Flatwoods section will be available for parking. The race has some wonderful running trails with a nice mix of single track and double track so it always easy to pass someone. TampaRaces.com started with the Flatwoods Four in 2001 so we are so happy to be bringing you a greatly improved Flatwoods race in 2011. Much of the Flatwoods Ramble course takes place on single track with sections being broken up with double track that provide a great place to pass some folks. 

Trout Creek Trail Runs 5k & 15k

Come join us on March 6th 2011 these absolutely beautiful and challenging 5K & 15K trail runs that wind through the pines, oak hammocks, and lakes using single and double track trails in Trout Creek. You will also enjoy running on the elevated berm for something a little different.
